Marta Paço, 14, was born blind due to a rare condition, Leber’s congenital amaurosis (ACL). A little over a year old, she took part in the Adapted Surfing World Championship in La Jolla, California, where she won the bronze medal in December 2018. She was a gold medalist in the first European Adapted Surfing Championship, EuroSurf.She became a European female champion in the ASVI category (visually impaired surfers).
